Better now than waiting for some massive leak affecting 1Password 7 that you get called out for not fixing. I'm confident you'll reverse that decision - the sooner you realize it, the better. I've been a user since 1Password 2 and I currently pay for a subscription (though I don't like that business model), so I'm more personally affected by the fact you launched 1Password 8 missing features from 1Password 7, but failing to provide security updates to 7 feels like a betrayal of trust. Have you learned nothing from the absolute trashing that companies (rightfully) get for abandoning security updates to versions still in wide use? That's a horrendously wrong decision, team. Not supporting security updates for 1Password 7, the last version to support non-subscriptions, makes me question if AgileBits actually "gets" being a socially responsible company at all. So very disappointing to see the shady stealth reversal instead of a simple reply. Will 1Password 7 users be notified that they will need to upgrade to 8 to receive security updates? I bet a lot of people won’t know 8 is out. For proof of this stealth edit beyond my own comment, see above by /u/CreepyZookeepergame4, who replied: I've been downvoted because people thought I wasn't reading, but prior to his stealth edit, he said that 1Password 7 would not be getting any updates. □ĮDIT: 6 hours after I posted this comment, /u/1PasswordCS-Blake edited his comment to say they would be providing "important security updates" without replying to my comment.
