The Lakers should be able to add a rotation player with the MLE and fill remaining spots with vet mins to be ok. Plus there will be MaxC, plus draft pics and two ways entering their 2nd year. The bird rights are there to sign for whatever if they opt out. AD/Rui/Van/ARe/Vin all locked for next year with LBJ/Dlo in too if they accept their player option. Overall they are still in a good position I agree. I suppose the Lakers can trade a player for 2ndRd picks and take no salary back to get back under if they are a little over as long as they don’t fill the 15th spot. Has Rob positioned the Lakers to be out of the tax game his year? It seems he just surpassed it by a small margin. This team is so deep it can absorb Bron sitting out 15 games at least. This is so deep…that’s why I’m convinced this is the year Brons minutes to down. ![]() They can all ball and are dependable players. Then, if you need to go back in next year it's a one year issue.Įxactly…my concern is how to find minutes for the wings. I think they've solved most of that by positioning themselves to be out of the tax this year. Most expect Wood/Prince to be major contributors to the Lakers next year, shame that one will almost definitely be gone. We won’t be able to benefit from the BAE next year regardless but could have if the duration had been for two years instead of one. Seems like a waste to use an exception for a 1year contract that can only be used every two years. Maybe he tried and just couldn’t get it done. Rob should have signed TaP for two years with the BAE since it can’t be used next year. If he does well he’ll leave and if he doesn’t he’ll be waived or become trade fodder. Reddish likely won’t be on the team regardless. ![]() The Lakers may be able to keep one of Prince/Wood if they choose the MLE…but if both become valuable contributors…one will almost surely follow the Monk/Shro path and bolt for more $. Hopefully there won’t be a problem with Dlo/MaxC, I believe we can bring both back if the Lakers so choose. They were talking that if we lucky and both DLo/Max have a great season but then DLo opts out, we have to pick between the two? And sure to lose Wood/Prince? Vas, was listening to Trevor Lane trying to breakdown next summer cap ‘problem’ assuming we don’t trade anybody. ![]()
